Mark your calendars for October 1 through 3, fix the lights on your stock trailer, and shine your boots. It’s time to begin planning to attend the 2015 Annual Meeting and National BWCAA Cattle Show! Well, it
might be a little early to shine your boots, but not for trip planning.
Where in the world is Purcell, Oklahoma? In June it’s in Tornado Alley, but we’re pretty safe in October.
Purcell is a small friendly community a few miles south of Oklahoma City on Interstate 35, also a suburb
of Norman, the home of the University of Oklahoma Sooners. Purcell provides a beautiful event facility for rodeos and showing animals called the McClain County Expo.
The Annual Meeting Committee is busy gathering information on accommodations, local attractions,
formulating details of the stock show and the membership meeting. Vicky VanHorn and her team are in
charge of the local arrangements. The Association will endeavor to keep information and details
forthcoming on a regular and timely basis. If you haven’t bookmarked the new BWCAA website, now is
a good time!
One thing we can tell you now is that the stock show will involve BWCAA Jr. Members showing halter broke British Whites, so be keeping an eye out for potential blue ribbon steers, heifers, cows and bulls.
All members are also strongly encouraged to bring animals for Penned classes of heifers, cows, steers and
bulls. If members wish to bring British Whites just for display or for sale, that is also encouraged.
More details will be coming as we develop the program.
