Annual Meeting
Guthrie, Oklahoma - September 25, 1999

We had a nice turn out for the Annual Membership Meeting in Guthrie, Oklahoma. An excellent meeting, everyone there will agree.   FRIENDS VISITING, HAVING FUN, FELLOWSHIP, GOOD FOOD, GETTING THE WORK DONE AND HAVING MORE FUN.

Officers:

Officers for the coming year are: Steve Montgomery, President, David Marshall, Vice President, Walter Bohaty, Secretary and Dean Bensen, Treasurer.

 Directors:

New members added to the Board are; Field McConnell, Harold Reek and Jonathan Wiechmann. The entire Board of Directors and the year their term ends are: Duane Baker-2003, Dean Bensen-2001, Walter Bohaty-2001, Morris Halliburton-2000, David Marshall-2001, Field McConnell-2000, Steve Montgomery-2000, Harold Reek-2003 and Jonathan Wiechmann-2003.

Newsletter:

Tom Zimmerman will be putting out a Fall Newsletter in early November 1999. This newsletter will go out to our entire membership and approximately 500 individuals with an interest in British White Cattle. You are invited to advertise your ranch in this newsletter at a cost of $100.00 for a quarter page ad. Please contact Tom Zimmerman, 515-225-1136, he will help you with the design and content of your ad.  Don’t pass up this opportunity to advertise your Ranch and British White Cattle. Contact Tom ASAP, deadline is October 25, 1999.

 Next Board Meeting:

The next British White Board meeting is scheduled for Saturday, February 5, 2000, in N. Kansas City, Missouri.

Show & Sale 2000:

Field & Alison McConnell are hosting a National British White Show and Sale in Minnesota, (Clay County Fairgrounds) near Fargo, North Dakota on June 25, 2000. Please give Field or Alison a call at 218-498-2568. Field & Alison have most of the groundwork laid for this event that will actually last three or four days with June 25 being the big day. They need your help. Specifically needed are volunteers, show cattle, volunteers, some of your best cattle for the sale and more volunteers. You will be hearing more from Field & Alison, but don’t wait, give them a call. They will appreciate your support and encouragement. 

Internet Advertising:

Please contact Morris Halliburton if you would like to establish a site on the Internet for your Ranch and British White Cattle. We are currently having about 40 visitors daily to our Internet sites and in the past year we know of several straws of semen and a few cattle that have  been sold as a result of advertising on the Internet. The Internet is fast becoming the most popular advertising medium available today and it is economical. See some examples, go to

 British White Internet proposal number 1.

            Help yourself and help your Association at the same time. Advertise your British White semen for sale on the Internet for $100.00 per bull. A one time charge forever unless you want to change/discontinue your ad or as long as we maintain a British White site. This will include a picture of your bull and all the details as to pedigree, semen price, etc. We will need you to furnish the picture and details.

 It only seems logical to believe that the majority of all new British White Semen purchasers will be a prospect that first saw it here. Also for those of you that are familiar with “Internet Search Engines”, where do you suppose a person would wind up if they searched for “ British White Semen ”?

 British White Internet proposal number 2.

            Your Own Internet Site, minimum of two pages.  The initial set up cost will be $75.00. This will include two pages, up to three pictures, a simple hit counter if you want one and an e-mail contact link back to you if you have an e-mail address. Maximum size of each page not to exceed 2MB. Additional pages if kept small & simple will be $25.00 per page.

    Maintenance cost will be $30.00 per quarter, payable in advance. (Does not include changing or upgrading the pages.) When total space used exceeds 5MB the maintenance fee will be increased. You should not be too concerned about the amount of MB unless you want to use a lot of pictures/graphics. Pictures are very slow to load, best to keep at a minimum. Probably estimate to use about 1 to 1.5 MB per page.

    Page upgrade costs would be from $0.00 to $25.00 per page, minimum of $15.00 per page if picture is involved. You will be billed after your upgrade is completed and posted to the Internet. The Initial $75.00 pays for setting the site up and the first three months maintenance cost.
