Dear Members of the British White Cattle Association of America,
Greetings to all, and I hope things are going well for you. The temperatures have cooled off considerably here now and the days are just beautiful, but there is the usual fall urgency to hurry and get things buttoned up and snug before the world gets white again.
Our British White Association Annual Meeting and Cattle Show was held on October 2-3 in Purcell, Oklahoma, and it was a complete success. Clay Wright spoke on factors to consider in selecting a bull, and Marty New talked about proper nutrition for the beef cow. There were also some interesting tours of the area and plenty of good food.
Attendance was high, and over 25 head of cattle were brought in from all over to show and sell. The kids had a great time and did a wonderful job with their animals. Smiles were abundant, along with some very shiny new buckles.
During the membership meeting on Saturday, three Board members, Curt Boles, Steve Montgomery and Sue Seep were reelected for their positions. In the Board meeting that followed, Jonathan Wiechmann was again assigned duties as President, Steve Montgomery as Vice President, John Kugler is Treasurer and Kevin Reed, Secretary.
We give a hearty and sincere thank you to Vicki VanHorn for hosting a great weekend, and also to Marcia Overley, Danielle Villines, Sue Seep and all the rest of you who gave time and resources in bringing about this memorable event.
John Kugler tells me he is planning a more detailed report on the Purcell weekend in his upcoming newsletter. Don’t miss it.
May the Lord bless you all and give you a great fall season watching those pretty British White cattle.
