MORE INFORMATION FROM EVENT HOST:

Hello Fellow British White Cale Lovers!

It is with great excitement that I announce the 2024 BWCAA annual membership meeting to be held at Albany MN. October 11‐12, 2024

I am writing to you personally not only invite you to attend the BWCAA meeting, but to also invite you to a special school that will be held in the same location the same weekend. I can’t tell you about it in just a couple sentences, but here’s some highlights before you read the rest.

The school is being taught by Mr Steve Campbell, an Idaho cattleman who has traveled the country evaluating cattle and educating producers. Steve’s schools are sell out events that cattle producers travel good distances to attend for a number of reasons. As cattle producers have become increasingly aware of the narrowing market for top quality cattle, producing this kind of animals is something we should pay close attention to as purebred breeders.

There are proven methods of identifying cattle in our herds that are more feed efficient, can increase the amount of beef (meat) produced while maintaining that efficient size, and other favorite traits our breed is known for. The simplest things like selecting bulls, heifers, and steers that will excel beyond their time as a calf on your farm.

I hope you have not experienced this yourself, but if you know someone who said “they got dinged at the sale” when they took those white steers or heifers to town, you certainly do not want that to happen to one of your customers. If you had the tools to understand what those buyers were looking for, would that be of interest to you? It’s NOT about black and white hair, but the solution sure may be black and white.

In regenerative farming we often discuss how we are grass farmers before we are cattle producers. With 2 cows, or 2000, that is always the case. British White cattle are still doing so many things that other breeds are working towards. Can we make a difference? You bet! We have seen an ever increase in the cost of hay, and seemingly more widespread drought or flooding than in the past decades. We may not easily be able to control these things, but we can use our British White Cattle most efficiently to adapt. If you could get information that would help you produce with your cattle that will not only survive under those conditions, but thrive, would you be willing to check it out?

Whether you are a brand new breeder just starting out in the cattle business with just 1 or 2 cows, or have been at it for decades, you’re sure to get some
great insights to take home with you. Don’t get stuck in a rut feeling like there is nothing you can do on your farm or ranch. Using YOUR British White
cattle, you can!

Topics that will be discussed in this special school include
+ The ‘Red Solo Cup’ Cow
+ Epigenetics (the effects of the environment on the animal’s ability to express it’s genetic potential)
+ Minerals and Mineralization
+ Live animal demonstrations
+ Real time to ask your questions, and get them directly answered

What is all this going to cost?
We have put a cap on how many folks will be able to attend due to space. We are including a British White Beef cookout lunch, and will have the event
concluded around 4 pm Saturday so you have plenty of time to travel home.
The school, and 2 meals cost will be only $50 per person, $60 if registering aster August 10, 2024 if any spaces remain at that time. This event is not part of
the British White Cale Association events, and is separate, however held the same weekend. Reserve your seat early.
